KATHMANDU, September 2 — The second batch of emergency relief supplies provided by the Chinese government for flood-affected regions in Nepal arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday evening. Alongside the relief materials, a five-member Chinese team specializing in DNA identification has also been deployed to Nepal.

According to the Embassy of China in Nepal, a Y-20 large transport aircraft of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force landed at Tribhuvan International Airport around 5:30 PM on Tuesday (September 1) carrying the supplies.

The aircraft also brought the five DNA identification experts, who constitute the third group of the Chinese assistance expert team dispatched to Nepal.

The handover ceremony was attended by the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Zhang Maoming, and Nepal’s Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Mahabir Pun. They formally received the emergency supplies and welcomed the incoming team of specialists.

The Chinese Embassy stated that the relief items were provided based on Nepal’s immediate needs. The consignment includes:

• Drones for aerial monitoring and assessment
• DNA testing equipment and reagents for identification work
• Water purification systems
• Emergency lighting equipment

The Chinese DNA identification team is scheduled to deploy immediately to the flood-affected areas to assist Nepalese authorities with forensic testing and victim identification. Following the devastating floods in Nepal, China has been continuously supporting search, rescue, and identification efforts through the provision of relief materials and technical expertise.
