Egypt’s 74th National Day Celebrated in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: The 74th National Day of the Arab Republic of Egypt was celebrated in Kathmandu with Vice President of Nepal Ramsahay Prasad Yadav as the chief guest.

The event was hosted in the presence of Sherif Aldiwany, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Nepal, and brought together distinguished guests, diplomats, government officials, members of the Egyptian community and representatives from various sectors.

The formal ceremony began with the national anthems of Nepal and Egypt. Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Aldiwany highlighted the enduring friendship and growing partnership between Nepal and Egypt.

The event also celebrated Egypt’s rich history, remarkable heritage and cultural identity, while underscoring the longstanding bonds of friendship between the two countries.

As part of the ceremony, Vice President Yadav and Ambassador Aldiwany raised a ceremonial toast to the continued prosperity of Egypt and the lasting friendship between Nepal and Egypt.

The celebration concluded with a special presentation showcasing the beauty, history and culture of Egypt, followed by authentic Egyptian cuisine for the guests.

Egypt’s National Day commemorates the Glorious Revolution of 23 July 1952, a landmark event in the country’s modern history.
