March 12, Kathmandu. Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa left here today on a six-day visit of Austria. He is leading a five-member Nepali delegation to the 62nd ministerial meeting of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to be held in Vienna, the capital of Austria.
The meeting will review the status of the implementation of the treaties and conventions on control of drug abuse while charting out a global policy and guideline for the future. Home Minister will be apprising the meeting about Nepal’s effort to control abuse of drugs, said his press coordinator Kiran Bhattarai.
Also during the visit, Home Minister Thapa is scheduled to meet with the UNODC chief and counterparts from various countries. He will return home on March 17.
